The Fondation pour le Développement de la Culture Contemporaine Africaine (FDCCA) is organising a major travelling exhibition entitled “Prête-moi ton rêve” (Lend me Your Dream) which opens in Casablanca on 18 June 2019. The exhibition will bring together some thirty world famous African artists of 15 different nationalities and will visit 6 countries across the continent.
This first ambitious project will bring together more than 100 previously unseen creations produced by world famous African artists like Abdoulaye Konaté, El Anatsui, William Kentridge, Chéri Samba, Barthélémy Toguo, Ouattara Watts during residencies prior to the event.
In each of the 6 cities visited, the exhibition has chosen to pay hommage to a local artist in recognition of their work, for example, in Casablanca, "Prête-moi ton rêve" will honor the works of Farid Belkahia.
Another highlight of the exhibition is the "Carte blanche" section, an exhibition devoted to local artists, led by a young resident curator.
To add to this, the exhibition will host round tables dedicated to specific themes related to contemporary artistic creation.
