Custot Gallery Dubai is pleased to participate in Abu Dhabi Art for the second time.

The gallery presents a selection of modern and contemporary art from the artists Etel Adnan, René Burri, Enrico Castellani, Ian Davenport, Jean Dubuffet, Bernar Venet and Fabienne Verdier. The gallery will exhibit Allo, Amélie by Abstract Impressionism’s most celebrated practitioner, Joan Mitchell. An impressive example of work produced during her time spent in Vétheuil, France, largely inspired by the surrounding landscape. Also on view, the first Spaghetti Bench by renowned sculptor and designer Pablo Reinoso made out of steel - a refreshing contrast to his well-known works in wood.

In parallel, Custot Gallery Dubai is hosting the first solo exhibition by Ian Davenport in the region, Cascade, from 5 November 2017 to 6 January 2018. The show will present sixteen new works, which develop Davenport’s rigorous investigation into colour relationships and the painting process. Davenport’s meticulous painting technique plays with timing and chance, allowing carefully selected chromatic palettes to flow down to the bottom of the painting - emphasising the materiality and liquidity of his work.
