MASTERPIECE LONDON 2015
INGRID DONAT - SOLO SHOW
BOOTH A39

Carpenters Workshop Gallery will be exhibiting a solo show of work by Ingrid Donat at this year’s Masterpiece London.

The booth will include new works created at the designer’s new studio at Carpenters Workshop Roissy, where the artist works with a team of artisans to push the artistic and technical boundaries of her creation process.

With a presentation of iconic works such as 'Commode Galuchat' or 'Artbook Console', the whole booth will be dedicated to her work including the walls which will be covered in her new ‘Plaques Mekano'.

Born in Paris into a family of artists, Ingrid Donat was brought up in Sweden. In 1975 she returned to her birthplace to realise her passion for sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. During these years she began to apply her sculptural talent to functional pieces, strongly encouraged by her mentor Diego Giacometti.

Only in 1998 did Ingrid Donat begin to exhibit publicly a body of work she had been creating for over twenty years. Today her work can be seen at major art and design collections around the world.

CARPENTERS WORKSHOP GALLERY
COLLECTING DESIGN

Carpenters Workshop Gallery transcends classical borders in terms of art and design. Its proposal stands just at the intersection of these two universes: reaching precisely a symbiosis of art and design.

Carpenters Workshop Gallery produces and exhibits functional sculptures by international rising and already established artists and designers going outside their traditional territories of expression.

The gallery is actively involved in the research and production of the limited edition works exhibited. The choices are guided by the research of an emotional, artistic and historical relevance; a relevance that appears as an evidence.
