The program aims to promote and support collaborative projects across France, with an increasing focus on the specificities and challenges of the French-speaking context.

It is dedicated to supporting, rewarding, and highlighting artists working in the development and implementation of collaborative art projects, participatory art, collective practices, and socially inclusive artistic approaches.

  • Application deadline: March 17 to April 26, 2026
  • Announcement of results: June 24, 2026
  • Residency: June 2027

EX-LIBRIS Residency: the Gulbenkian Library launches its first residency for visual and graphic artists exploring its collections:

The French Delegation of Fondation Calouste Gulbenkian launches EX-LIBRIS, a new research-creation residency entirely designed and led by its teams. Hosted for three months at the Gulbenkian Library, a visual and/or graphic artist will be invited to develop a project in close dialogue with the library’s collections, archives, and documentary resources.

Designed as a period of immersion and research, the residency positions the Gulbenkian Library as a true public space for creation. Beyond this experimentation phase, it offers the artist the opportunity to freely explore a selected corpus from the collections — rare books, special collections, periodicals — in order to develop a plastic, editorial, or hybrid project.

  • Application deadline: March 16 to April 20, 2026
  • Announcement of results: May 2026
  • Residency period: September 22 to December 23, 2026
