FROM 14 APRIL TO 18 MAY 2016

From 14 April to 18 May 2016, Galerie Photo12 will present “Mini-Mahl Maxi-Mahl”, an exhibition focused on the work of the photographer Andreas Mahl.

One of the biggest names in polaroid photography, Andreas Mahl is known for his experimental research that led him to cross the boundaries of classical techniques.

Thanks to his Polaroid SX70 in particular, the artist multiplies the interventions (delaying of the emulsion development, manipulation of layer development, superposition, transfer) and alters the reality by going beyond the simple act of the shooting.

His work combines both a perfect skill in scientific and chemical techniques and a highly poetic sensitivity.

The exhibition gathers about fifty photographs, in large and small formats, taken in the 1980s to 1990s, of his most emblematic themes: still life, twins, dolls, nudes...
