Galerie Templon: The new Francesco Clemente exhibition catalogue available online
Communic’Art has created a catalogue of Francesco Clemente’s exhibition “Pirate Heart” currently on show at Galerie Templon
From 5 November to 23 December 2016, Italian artist Francesco Clemente will exhibit his paintings for the first time in Paris since 1996 at Galerie Templon with previously unseen series of works dedicated to love called, “Pirate Heart.”
The catalogue brings together the 36 paintings presented in the exhibition. In a vibrant and sensual palette of harmonious colours, women and men, animals and hallucinatory geometric shapes reconstruct to form a melody that examines the power of love, its meaning, its gender, its sensual explosion.
These paintings are brought to life through the poems of Enrique Juncosa - poet, essayist, art critic, exhibition curator and museum director.
Born in Naples in 1952, Francesco Clemente was one of the principal protagonists of the Italian Transavantgarde movement that gave new life to international figurative painting in the 1980s.
A passionate traveler, the artist lives and works in New York and frequently visits Rome, New Mexico and India.
“Pirate Heart” is the artist’s fourth solo exhibition at Galerie Templon that presents the Italian Transavantgarde movement of 1980’s France.
