Guerlain presents its new exhibition, "Les Militantes", dedicated to women's commitment, which will be held from October 19 to November 14, 2022, at the Maison Guerlain, 68 Champs-Elysées.

This year's exhibition, which brings together some twenty established and emerging artists from the contemporary scene, is the quintessence of this House, which has always supported the women and artists of its time. This year, Guerlain is partnering with Paris+ through Art Basel, thus offering a new prestigious international showcase for committed artists.

The commitment of these artists, sometimes radical, sometimes subtle but always profound, unites them in their diversity. Their struggle is for a fairer, healthier world, in other words, a better world - a wish which, after two years of pandemic, seems more than relevant at a time when the planet is threatened and our continent is under attack. Beyond making visible the problems of our society, the work of these artists challenges, even disturbs. The ecological balance is the guarantee of the survival of the human species; an essential subject in the exhibition, which is embodied by these artists who remind us of this in a poignant way. Social violence, gender inequality, the invisibility of women and political imbalances are also expressed in their works.

Through paintings, photographs, sculptures and drawings, the exhibition speaks loud and clear about the social and ecological commitments that Guerlain shares and supports, as well as the place of women in a society that we can only dream of being softer and more harmonious.

Founded to celebrate beauty, the House of Guerlain has been known for its light, collaborating with renowned artists over the centuries, where art has become the opening to new horizons. In 2006, as a natural extension of a gesture so rightly initiated, it opened an annual exhibition with an ambitious artistic programme.

Since then, more than 185 artists have been presented in "68" in thematic exhibitions conceived by Guerlain and curator Caroline Messensee, previously part of the FIAC Private Trail and now partners of Paris+ by Art Basel. These exhibitions have brought together young talents and established artists from the contemporary scene, as well as creators, visual artists, photographers, sculptors and digital artists from all over the world. Sensitive to the issues of its time, the Guerlain brand is consolidating its commitment by honouring women and nature on which the future of humanity so much depends.

Guerlain is associated with these activists, artists and women. To these battles whose outcome has yet to be written; from these mixed voices, as brilliant as they are courageous, a breath seems to emanate: "Only battles that are not fought are lost.
