Pontus Silfverstolpe, co-founder of Barnebys, will give a speech to key figures in the art market at the first The Art Market Day event to be held at the Centre Pompidou on Monday 5 November 2018.

At the head of Barnebys, an internationally renowned on-line platform, Pontus Silfverstolpe is aware of the challenges to be faced by a company in this digital era.

Based on his experience, during a speech entitled “Behaviour, Brand, Data - Why is tech important for the art market?” the Scandinavian entrepreneur will address several key themes to give his audience a grasp of the challenges faced from the point of view of a technology company.

He will provide a clear analysis of the factors involved in moving in the digital sphere, and will speak about the challenges faced in the art and auction market.

Pontus Silfverstolpe will also underline the essential importance of brand image, traffic and data appropriation for any company doing business on line.

Organised by the Quotidien de l’Art, The Art Market Day is the first conference dedicated to key players and figures on the art market.

Professionals from throughout Europe will meet on Monday 5 November 2018 at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, taking part in round table debates, discussion panels and keynote speeches, to address the current situation on the art market and the changes it is undergoing.

A specialist in fine arts and antiques, Pontus Silfverstolpe has over twenty years’ experience of the art market and auctions, an area that inspired the Barnebys project, which he founded in 2011 with Christopher Barnekow.

Formerly the Director of Lila Bukowskis and curator at Åmells Art Trade, Pontus Silfverstolpe has wide ranging experience in the art and antiques industry. As presenter of the Antiques Detectives TV show, and editor at Swedish Antique Dealers, he writes regularly for various magazines and is a well-known expert in Scandinavia.
