The galerie Di Meo has entrusted Communic’Art with the creation and publication of the catalogue L’enfer c’est les autres, for the exhibition of Pietro Ruffo, presented  for the first time in France from March 25 until May 28, 2011.

The opening reception is held on Thursday March 24 starting at 6pm in the Di Meo Gallery, 9 rue des Beaux-Arts-75006 Paris

Entitled L’enfer c’est les autres, this exhibition explores the theme of freedom, the key topic for italian artist Pietro Ruffo. His work -infused with great visual strength- is nourished by deep philosophical and geopolitical issues.

Composed of 64 pages in color, the catalogue gathers 29 illustrations of the works exhibited at galerie Di Meo.

Published in French, the catalogue presents an introduction entitled  Wild Allegory by Patrick Amine -essayist and curator.

This text is followed by an essay written by the Italian Political Science professor Stefano Casertano, on the subject of several paintings in the exhibition: the Roman Empire and China’s current political expansionism.

Born in Roma in 1978, Pietro Ruffo has exhibited in several museums : the Museum of Art and Design in New York, the Macro in Roma and in the permanent collection of the Mambo in Bologna.
The winner of the prize “premio cairo” and the “New York Prize” of the Italian Cultural Institute, he has worked in New York on a project on the topics of freedom and colonialism.
