Christian Berst Art Brut PRESENTS ITS EXHIBITIONS ONLINE, WHILST EXTENDING THEM UNTIL THE END OF DECEMBER 2020
Following the French government's announcements in response to the Covid-19 health crisis, Christian Berst Art Brut and The Bridge galleries are obliged to close their doors until Tuesday, 1st December 2020.
These two exhibitions will be extended until the end of December. More information to come soon.

Such, more or less, is the thought that comes to mind when looking at this anonymous photographic collection that has changed hands several times. Here are hundreds of amateur photographs covering the decade from 1996 and 2006 expressing the fetishism of the taker.
This is manifested in photographs of legs sheathed in tights, snapped on the street or on television.
The practice unfailingly recalls that of Miroslav Tichý – exhibited at the same time – except for the significant difference that our photographer sometimes becomes an exhibitor in what Magali Nachtergael calls this “museum of veiled legs.”

The Bridge gallery
Christian Berst has invited curator Gaël Charbau to inaugurate the new space The Bridge with a completely new exhibition "Face à Face".
"For this first exhibition, entitled “Face to Face,” I propose to take a look at a subject that is universal and obvious, and yet that has become scarce in public space in recent months: the face.
Combining works from the enlightened collection assembled by Laurent Nebot and from the gallery, “Face to Face” does not try to theoretise its contents but, on the contrary, is open to the “sympathetic” resonances between the works, as we say in music when one string sets another vibrating.
How does a piece by Annette Messager resonate alongside a Misleidys Castillo Pedroso, or a face by Raymond Coins when placed beside Philippe Mayaux’s “Missing Link,” and how does a funeral post from the high plateaus of Vietnam vibrate with a scrawled-over face by José Manuel Egea? Let’s try it and see."
