From 11 to 17 September, meet Galerie Dumonteil at the Biennale Paris

From 11 to 17 September 2017, on the occasion of the 29th edition of the Biennale Paris, Galerie Dumonteil will present a series of exceptional works along the theme of along the theme of a "Terrestrial Paradise". 
 
At the center of its booth, Galerie Dumonteil will present one of Camille Roche's most iconic works, the famous "Mortola Gardens". 
 
This ensemble of nine wooden panels realized with oil paint was created for the Villa "Le Roc", the property of Lord and Lady Cholmondeley in Juan-les-Pins in 1937. This is the first time that it has been presented in France.  
 
Alongside these panels majestic bronze sculptures from emblematic artists of the gallery will be displayed; Rembrandt Bugatti, Georges-Lucien Guyot and Charles Artus. Exotic, wild and domestic, these animals will bring this garden to life. 
 
"The Mortola Gardens" represents a luxurious Mediterranean landscape composed of palm trees, cactus and pine trees. 
 
When the canvas was initially exhibited, the branches reached the ceiling of the "salle fraîche" so that the trunks of the tree, ingeniously balanced size, giving the impression of height.
 
The depth of the garden continued to manifest itself even in the "salle fraîche": the different tones of green, blue and orange, the sinuous pathways and the luxurious vegetation invited visitors to lose themselves inside it.
