Since summer 2025, BIENALSUR has been deploying a transnational contemporary art journey across 34 countries. Through interactive exhibitions, site-specific installations, residencies, and round-table discussions, the biennial asserts an open and decentralized model, free from market-driven logic and rigid formats, involving both major institutions and territories outside traditional art circuits.

In Europe, the program continues through January 2026, offering nearly 40 events in total across 11 countries. In partnership with renowned institutions such as the Centre Pompidou, the Museo Reina Sofía, and the Irish Museum of Modern Art, BIENALSUR offers a cycle of exhibitions and encounters fostering dialogue between artists, thinkers, and diverse audiences.

BIENALSUR 2025 SCHEDULE:

FRANCE — Since September, La Fabrique at the Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès has been hosting the group project Le Silence des Lucioles.

POLAND — Until January 9, 2026, the Podbrzezie Gallery at the University of the National Education Commission in Kraków presents ALL IN(clusive): Design that Connects, an exhibition on inclusive design.

SPAIN — Until December 31, the Museo Casa Natal Picasso in Málaga presents the exhibition Animating History: Miguel Rep at Casa Natal Picasso, a six-episode animation series devoted to Picasso.

ITALY — Until January 23, 2026, the Embassy of Spain in Rome unveils the exhibition Invocations: My Mortality Should Move You.

GERMANY — Until February 15, 2026, Kunstverein Bielefeld presents the exhibition Behind Eyes, a collection of paintings, photographs, videos, and archives.

TURKEY — On December 24 and 31, 2025, and January 7 and 14, 2026, Istanbul Modern will present the documentary "BIENALSUR at Istanbul Modern."

Also participating:

Hungary, where the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest will present "BEKE 80+1: Memorial Exhibition of Dr. László Beke," paying tribute to the vast legacy of the late art historian, from November 26 to January 17, 2026.
And Croatia, with Exercises in Imagination, a series of artistic interventions at the Nacionalni Muzej Moderne Umjetnosti, from November 29 to December 31.
