From March 18 until April 29, JGM.Galerie will present an exhibition of twenty sculptures made by Jean Tinguely between the 60s and 90s. As a representative member of the New Realism movement, Jean Tinguely was using industrialized and rejected objects to construct his sculptures.

The sculptures on view, made in various dimensions, pay tribute to the multiple aspects of Tinguely’s work, where movement glorifies the object.

After the success of the Tinguely Museum in Basel and of certain recent public auctions, this exhibition stimulates the interest for this French artist who has left a mark on the artistic scene of the 1960s and 70s.

The catalogue presents a two-fold approach on the work of Tinguely through texts by two different generations of critics: Pontus Hulten who was Tinguely’s friend in the 1950s, the author of various titles on the artist and the director of the Museum of Modern At at the Centre Georges Pompidou between 1973 and 1981, and Andres Pardey, current curator of the Tinguely Museum in Basel.

This catalogue is distributed by our partner PARIS MUSÉES in 300 bookstores in France, including 50 specialized with an Art section and it will be listed in over forty (40) professional databases, including Fnac, Amazon and Dilicom as well as in online bookstores.

The catalogue will also be distributed in Europe, North America, Canada, and Eastern Europe.
