From 10 to 19 March 2017, De Jonckheere Gallery will participate in the 30th edition of the TEFAF Maastricht fair with a selection of the greatest Flemish masters of the 16th and 17th centuries.

For TEFAF Maastricht, De Jonckheere will be putting together its latest acquisitions: a collection of previously unseen works brought together by the followers and disciples of the painter Jérôme Bosch, along with works from the Brueghel dynasty, Louis de Caullery, Master of Female Half-Lengths, Maerten Van Cleve, Frans Francken, Lucas Gassel, Jacob Grimmer, Abel Grimmer, Jan van Kessel the Elder, Jan van Kessel the Younger, Met de Bles, Georg Pencz, Frans Snyders, Isaac Soreau and David Teniers.

From religious scenes by anonymous painters such as the Master of Female Half-Lengths, to rural settings and traditional celebrations by Maerten Van Cleve, Jan Van Kessel or even Abel Grimmer, the diversity of the subjects and styles presented are perfect illustrations of the countryside and the religious Flemish lifestyles of the century.

The richness of the details, and the pictorial vocabulary of the works on view reveal the modernity of the 16th and 17th century Flemish painters.
