MO.CO. and MO.CO. Panacée celebrate the Art & Science season with a cultural programme where art becomes a laboratory of ideas and emotions
At MO.CO. Montpellier Contemporain, art enters into dialogue with science until 18 May. Captivating exhibitions and an eventful programme.
At MO.CO. Montpellier Contemporain, the exhibition Éprouver l'inconnu (Experiencing the Unknown) questions our relationship to uncertainty and to the mysteries of the universe. Through singular works, the artists explore the boundaries between the visible and the invisible, the known and the unexplained. Meanwhile, at MO.CO. Panacée, Ivana Bašić presents Metempsychosis, a series of organic sculptures that question the transformation of the body and the evolution of living forms, while Pierre Unal-Brunet, with Prodrome, immerses us in a reflection on the early stirrings of great technological revolutions.
Immersive and participatory events punctuate this exceptional season. MO.CO. gives external speakers free rein to present Éprouver l'inconnu in an unprecedented way, from a new angle, through "point of view visits". On 16 March, MO.CO. welcomes Stephan Matecki, chair of the scientific council – deputy dean of the Montpellier-Nîmes Faculty of Medicine – a physiologist, and on 5 April, Gérald Chanques, university professor and hospital practitioner in anaesthesia and intensive care – head of historical heritage at the University and Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier.
As for MO.CO. Panacée, as part of the "Jeudis MO.CO. Panacée" (MO.CO. Panacée Thursdays), it is organising a discussion between Joey Holder, artist, and Benoît Charlot, research director at IES CNRS, on 5 April.
