The Delegation in France of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation presents LISBOA nu bai PARIS*, a music programme, at the Gaîté Lyrique
The Calouste Gulbenkian Delegation in France is teaming up with the Gaîté Lyrique for a major festive event celebrating diasporic musical cultures, particularly urban and electronic sounds, from Portugal. A night-time music programme alongside a daytime programme of screenings and talks.
On 8 and 9 November 2025, Paris will host an unprecedented encounter between Lisbon and Paris. LISBOA nu bai PARIS celebrates the 50th anniversary of independence of the Portuguese-speaking African nations, reminding us that the Portuguese capital is today a crossroads where tradition and avant-garde meet to shape new sounds and new narratives that transcend borders.
This event is not merely a festival, but a cultural manifesto, resonating like a collective cry for liberation. The Batida de Lisboa, oscillating between past and future, becomes the vehicle for a reconstruction of identity, where every rhythm, melody and word carries both the strength of memory and a drive towards a freer, more fraternal future.
To mark the 60th anniversary of the Gulbenkian Foundation in France, through its Delegation and in partnership with La Gaîté Lyrique, this event is the result of careful curation by Dino D'Santiago and co-production by Batuku Records. On stage, voices, stories and cultures come together to reveal art as an essential tool for social transformation.
LISBOA nu bai PARIS promises to be more than a celebration: it will be an invitation to reflection, unity and liberation, marking a unique moment of resistance and creation through Art.
