From December 2 to 7, 2025, for its fourth consecutive participation in Design Miami, Galerie Lefebvre & Fils celebrates the fair's 20th edition with an exceptional project produced entirely in the United States in collaboration with Aurélien Gendras: a monumental installation comprising five sculptures by Laurent Dufour. The works on display are titled Visage de femme (blue), L'Oiseau (green), La Famille (yellow), L'Ours (white), and Mineral (in terracotta). Four of the sculptures measure 2 meters, and one reaches 2.20 meters; each was created in a single firing, a challenge made possible by exceptional, large-scale kilns.

Laurent Dufour's participation in Design Miami was made possible through an invitation from Tony Marsh and Chris Miles, head of the ceramics department at California State University, Long Beach, and their innovative research program. Designed specifically for the American context, this unprecedented installation reflects Laurent Dufour's ongoing dialogue with archetypal forms, forgotten traditions, and founding mythologies.

Drawing inspiration from archaeology, ritual arts, ancient civilizations, as well as contemporary tensions between spirituality and materiality, Laurent Dufour shapes ceramic as a medium of memory and transformation. His totemic works evoke universal narratives and embody a form of continuity between humankind and its environment. Their surfaces, by turns raw and glazed, catch the light like ancient skin, vibrating with earthen tones.
